Constitution of the Lake Bolsena biodistrict

The general assembly of the biodistrict took place on Saturday October 23 in the ducal hall of the Palazzo Farnese in Gradoli. The agenda included:

  • establishment of the Association with the Founding Members
  • acceptance of the Statute
  • collection of memberships
  • election of the Board of Directors
  • election of corporate offices

70 members participated in the election of the 15 members of the Board of Directors. The following members were elected to the board:

  • Bolsena, Gradoli and Montefiascone as representatives of the Municipalities
  • Borgo Podernovo Soc. Agricola SS from Bolsena, Az. Agr. and Agriturismo Fattoria Capobianco from Montefiascone, Az. Agr. Fornovecchino from Montefiascone, La Quercia S.S. Agricultural Society of Viterbo and Az. Agr. Montetavolino from Capodimonte as representatives of Organic Farmers
  • the Fratelli Agosti Institute of Bagnoregio as a representative of educational institutions
  • the “Labor” social cooperative of Bolsena and the “Vulci Viaggi” travel agency of Montefiascone as representatives of business enterprises
  • the “Caffè Menerva” association of Grotte di Castro and the “Lago di Bolsena” association of Marta as representatives of the Associations
  • Marco Lauteri as representative of the Scientific Committee
  • Gabriele Antoniella as representative of the Consultants

Due to ongoing delays, it was not possible to proceed with the election of corporate offices: the last step missing from the full operation of the biodistrict. It will be the subject of an extraordinary meeting to be convened shortly.

There was a negative note: unfortunately and despite the great commitment of the volunteers, the assembly took place in an atmosphere of improvisation motivated by the desire to speed up the times in order to participate in the regional tender for biodistricts; to this were added the late arrivals of important figures for the constitution.

All this has caused various errors; among these, to us the discriminatory attitude towards people without a green pass seems serious. Although the invitation to the meeting announced that “an external table could be set up to collect ballots”, there was neither the table nor the opportunity to vote for members without a green pass. Some of them were eventually able to resort to the possibility of delegating their vote to other people present. The last two cards presented by proxy, however, were no longer admitted at the behest of a volunteer with the justification that it was “too late”. Yet the accumulated delays were certainly not attributable to these voters! In addition, if these two cards had been counted, our association would have entered the Board of Directors. In this regard, we will present a letter of protest with a request for remedy.
