Delays in the restoration of the lake sewage system are accumulating. The work on the lifting stations of the ring canal is almost finished but has essentially been stopped for some months. Two pumps are still missing, in some stations electrical equipment does not work, the connection of the new electrical panels is not completed, the remote alarm system is not installed.

All this has unpleasant consequences: malfunctions and repeated spills (especially from Station 13) which are damaging the health of the lake and its tourist image.

The water treatment plant on the Marta river is completely abandoned and all the wastewater of the basin flows into the Marta without purification. Important additional funds have been allocated, but the work has not resumed.

Added to this is the great uncertainty on the current and future management of the sewage system. Who coordinates and takes care of routine maintenance, who in the future will manage the whole system? Will Talete take care of it? When will checks be carried out? What will happen to the many necessary jobs which have not yet been scheduled?

Who coordinates the work of the employees of COBALB, in bankruptcy now that Director Pierangeli has retired and the Region declares itself not responsible?

To alert the institutions and to ask for clarification, the environmental associations of the lake presented a complaint to the Public Prosecutor. In support of this action, the regional councillor of the M5S, Silvia Blasi, has requested a hearing before the VIII Regional Commission, which will be held on Tuesday 9 July.
