Numerous concerned citizens contacted us at the beginning of July to clarify the project for the cycle path in the municipality of Gradoli. We have requested access to the files and can now confirm that the drafting of the project is deficient in many respects. Among other things, the obligatory impact assessment with the conservation objectives of Lake Bolsena, which is protected by the Habitats and Birds Directive and is a Cycle path with no negative enviromental impact
Our hope is that, in addition to strict compliance with current regulations, there will be greater involvement of local experts in the future, for example the associations and the Scientific Committee of the Biodistrict. Cyclists’ clubs should also be involved, as they know the current routes, are interested in maintaining the characteristics of naturalistic value of our wonderful places and know the actual needs of their sector.
We want to reiterate that the intent of our associations is not to demonise but to supervise, collaborate and build together.
