Guardian of the Environment – interview with Piero Bruni

With the feast of St. Francis on October 4th, the “Days of Creation 2020” celebration, dedicated to the care for life and human relationships with nature, came to a close. With the encyclical Laudato sí the saint of Assisi became the main point of reference for Pope Francis and the Catholic Church in the fight against injustice and for the protection of the environment. An important event in the “Days of Creation 2020”, which began on September 1st, took place in Montefiascone on September 5th with the National Day for the Guardian of Creation, entitled: “We cannot turn back: a new humanism in the light of Laudato sí”. The day, organised by the Rocca dei Papi association chaired by Fabio Fabene, secretary of the Synod of Bishops, concluded with awards for the “Guardians of Creation”. Piero Bruni, chairman of the Lago di Bolsena Association, was among those honoured. To mark the occasion, an interview was recorded in which Bruni explains the dangers to the lake and the indispensable measures to save it. The video of the interview is now available to listen to and share.
