Round table for eco-sustainable agriculture – 9 June 2019

On Sunday June 9, as part of the program of Environment Days 2019, there will be a meeting / round table entitled Lake Bolsena towards the future: sustainable agriculture, new economy”, held in the auditorium of San Francesco in Bolsena from 10.00 to 13.00. As with the conference on June 7 in San Lorenzo Nuovo, attention will be drawn to agriculture: its value for the territory, the pressures it undergoes and the danger that chemical and monoculture farming represents for the lake.

We will talk about the possibilities that an eco-sustainable choice would open up for our territory, in all sectors of the economy: agriculture, craftsmanship, construction, tourism, gastronomy and commerce. We will talk about the vision we can develop for the future of Lake Bolsena and the possibility of accomplishing it. We will talk about the project for a bio-district of Lake Bolsena.

The meeting will offer ample space for debate and for citizens’ contributions between the short lectures: because, of course, the future of the territory must be decided by the people who live and work there, who know it and love it.

The program includes:

  • 10.00 – Welcome
  • An eco-sustainable agriculture for another economy; talk by Famiano Crucianelli, President of the Bio-district of Via Amerina and delle Forre
  • Impact of human activities on the lake: urban sewage, geothermal energy, non-sustainable agriculture; talk by Piero Bruni, President of the Lake Bolsena Association
