Organic potato cultivation in Tuscia – Conference, June 7

As part of Environment Days 2019, BLEU draws attention to agriculture, a very important economic activity in the Lake Bolsena area. In fact, action for the protection of the lake and for eco-sustainable development of its territory necessarily involves the world of agriculture: cultivation and agronomic choices have repercussions not only on the economy but also on the health of operators, of consumers, on the lake waters, on the landscape and on its biodiversity. It is important to be aware of the relationships that exist between the choices we make and the consequences thereof to our surroundings (other human beings, animals, plants, waters, etc.).

To this end, we have organised a conference dedicated to the organic cultivation of potatoes titled Organic potato cultivation in Tuscia – from concrete experience to agronomic, phytopathological and economic aspects.

The meeting, scheduled for June 7 at 5:00 pm and kindly hosted by the Municipality of San Lorenzo Nuovo in their Council Chamber, is an opportunity to expand knowledge in the field of agriculture and to evaluate alternative practices. Together with a local organic producer and other experts, we will look for solutions to protect the health of operators and consumers, without neglecting the need to improve the product and recognising the work of farmers.

We hope that farmers and consumers will participate and actively contribute to the debate.
