Update 5.05.18

The work to restore the lake’s waste water collector is proceeding. The works, which in this first phase address the hydraulic/mechanic plant of the pumping stations, terminate at stations SS2, SS3, SS4, SS5, SS6, SS7, SS8 and at the substations of San Lorenzo Nuovo, Valentano and Marta. The director of Cobalb, who updates us on progress, confirms that by the end of May this phase of the operation will be completed.

Some days ago, however, we (along with 500 participants of the Lake Bolsena Marathon) witnessed an extensive spillage of waste water on the lake front of Montefiascone close to the SS10. The cause of the pollution remains unknown.

Remember that until the new Marta treatment plant is built, the waste waters of the collector  continue to pour into the River Marta.
