Restoration work on the wastewater treatment plant has begun. The plant, located on the Marta river, should purify the waters of the wholeLake Bolsena area, but has been out of service for about three years. A few days ago, the subcontracted company responsible began work to analyse the condition of the plant and make preparations.

No news about work on the lifting stations: the pumps at stations SS13 and SS15 are still missing, as they have been for months. The fourth pump at SS9 (at Grancaro) is still broken, causing a continuous discharge of sewage (see photos opposite and above). As expected, unfortunately, the promises made during the hearing of the 8th Regional Commission have not been kept.

Speaking of scandals: for months COBALB employees, who work daily to operate the waste collection system, have not been paid. Would it not be appropriate for the municipalities and the Province (who are the members of the bankrupt COBALB) to take care of the men who for twenty years have been working for the protection of the lake?
