Update 5.10.18

Great relief among those working to restore the cirumlacuale sewage collector: the problem of the SS9 lifting station seems to have been resolved. More than a month ago, we recall, the new pumps installed at Station 9 proved incapable of conveying the waste water to the next station. As a result, all these waters ended up directly in the lake, polluting it. It was assumed as and then confirmed to be a construction error. Technicians from the production company replaced the impellers of the powerful new pumps and they now work perfectly (see photo).

This repair operation had however the effect of moving the spill to the next station, the SS10 on the Montefiascone lakefront. This was promptly notified to the Carabinieri Forestali by an attentive citizen (his photo of the spill) and those responsible for the restoration work intervened to solve the problem. Evidently the new telealarm system is not yet operational.

To complete the work at the lifting stations, there are still no pumps at stations 15 and 20 and the connection of several electrical panels are still missing. COBALB plans to be able to conclude this stage by the end of October.
