Letter to the Lazio Region

Since October 2019, we have stopped updating our “work in progress” section given that:

• work on the ring canal has essentially stopped
• the sewer system is still in a disastrous state, with repeated spills from almost all lifting stations (and continuous spills at some particularly vulnerable stations), in the absence of any daily checks or maintenance
• the authorities’ lack of transparency and information remains total.

In addition, regarding

1) the existence of a memorandum of understanding between the Lazio Region and Talete regarding the management of the sewage system, not yet signed (pending for months)
2) a new allocation of funds
3) reliable information on the company Luisiana Appalti SRL of Artena (Roma), which won the tender,
we can only report rumours.

What is certain, however, is that COBALB workers, although obliged to intervene whenever necessary, have not been paid for almost a year. Some citizens have set up a fund, available to those workers who are most in need.
